Controls and night mode
Read the arc
The solid part represents the mattress temperature. The dim span toward the target shows the gap remaining. A shimmer communicates progress while the mattress is catching up.
The progress animation runs between the current temperature and the target. Silent device capture.
Turn and click
A normal detent changes the target by one degree; faster rotation accelerates to two degrees. Two detents below the 55°F lower limit reach the off stop. A click or tap on the power icon turns the side off, then back on using Core’s current target.
The arc empties when power is off and returns when the selected side is powered again. Silent device capture.
Hold for settings
A ring fills during a hold. Releasing early cancels. Settings include Wi-Fi, manual Pod IP, discovery, temperature units, night mode, and side. A local temperature-unit choice is retained even when the Pod uses another display unit.
The ring fills over 1.5 seconds, then settings opens. Silent device capture.
Manual holds and Resume
In Settings → Hold duration, choose 15, 30, 60, or 120 minutes (default 30) for future adjustments. Changing this preference does not extend an existing hold. Settings → Resume releases the active side’s hold so Core can resume applicable automation; it does not itself turn the side on.
With a compatible Core version, the screen shows the current owner—Manual hold, Run once, Autopilot, Schedule, or No owner—and any safety/off block. Manual holds show their expiry when the Dial’s clock is initialized. Older Core versions continue to support temperature adjustments, but Resume remains unavailable until Core reports support.
Connection feedback
A hollow end cap means Core has not yet confirmed the change. “No Wi-Fi” and “Pod offline” describe connection problems. “Updating…” and “Update failed” apply to the selected side’s write or confirming status read. The side name comes from Core’s settings.
Background polling waits 30 seconds after interaction; a completed write refreshes ownership and the effective target immediately without overwriting newer queued input. The arc settles 180 milliseconds after rotation stops, and temperature writes are sent after a 500-millisecond debounce.
At night
Automatic night mode runs from 22:00 to 07:00 in the configured timezone. It switches to red on black and disables sounds. You can force it on or off in settings.
The display dims to about 1% brightness after ten seconds of inactivity by day, or five seconds at night. Safe wake arms three seconds after dimming: once armed, the first input only wakes the screen. Input during that initial three-second window still acts normally.
If the display looks wrong
Check night mode, timezone offsets, and whether the display is simply idle-dimmed. For connectivity and stale values, check the Pod IP and serial monitor. Normal synchronization occurs every 30 seconds.
